RENUMESH Technologies is proud to announce a major milestone in its growth journey, marked by the successful facilitation by the Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotion Authority (UFZEPA), as one of Uganda’s new technology exporters.
This development has enabled RENUMESH Technologies to expand the production and distribution of its locally developed digital and connectivity solutions to regional and international markets, reinforcing Uganda’s emerging role as a source of high-quality, homegrown innovation.
With UFZEPA’s support, RENUMESH Technologies successfully completed its first international export, delivering a consignment of solar-powered Internet routers to the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN). The export marks a significant step in Uganda’s technology export landscape, demonstrating the country’s capability to design, assemble, and deliver reliable connectivity solutions that empower education and research communities across Africa.
The routers, designed and assembled in Uganda, are built to perform reliably in areas with limited access to stable electricity and broadband connectivity. Their solar-powered design supports sustainable connectivity and green innovation, aligning with both Uganda’s industrialisation agenda and Africa’s broader digital transformation goals.
This achievement is anchored in RENUMESH Technologies’ Strategic Plan (2025–2027), which prioritises innovation, export readiness, green manufacturing, and strategic partnerships that expand access to affordable connectivity across Africa. Facilitated by UFZEPA, RENUMESH Technologies is positioning itself as a key player in Uganda’s growing technology export sector and contributing to the country’s vision of becoming a regional innovation and knowledge hub.
About UFZEPA
UFZEPA is a statutory government agency established by the Free Zones (Amendment) Act 30 of 2024. It is mandated to establish, develop, manage, market, maintain, supervise and control Free Zones; develop, promote and coordinate all export-related activities. UFZEPA is set to play a pivotal role in catalysing export-led industrialisation – a key pillar in Uganda’s ten-fold growth strategy, Vision 2040, and the National Development Plan IV, all of which prioritise industrialisation, job creation, and increased export earnings, as key pillars for socio-economic transformation.
